emiLime at Columbus Circle Holiday Market!

There is almost nothing more festive than spending the holidays in New York City, amongst the Rockefeller Ice Skating Rink, the famous Christmas Tree, the not-so-cozy snow showers and the bustle of people cramming in last minute shopping. As we mentioned back in October, emiLime is excited to join this year’s Columbus Circle Holiday Market and has kept herself busy this week getting the booth all set-up.

Aside from our classic line of hats, scarves, gloves and wraps, founder and designer Emily E. Green will be onsite in the booth introducing a small collection of purses and horn jewelry. The bags are made from hand woven fabric that comes from the Northern part of Peru, combined with beautiful leather detailing. Our favorite purse is a twist of the popular “mochila” bag.

One of the biggest trends we’ll be seeing in 2012 is bold colors and textiles. Incorporating the tactile experience into any item is important because it is the key factor in finding the difference between handmade and machine-made products. Slight variations in the texture of the item – such as bumps, puffs, smoothness, or rough patches – can cause a reaction when the buyer is physically touching the merchandise. These are just some examples of the most prominent design trends seen in handmade products, used in the structure of emiLime accessories and made for the modern Conscionista.

If you are in New York during the holiday season, please make sure to stop by Columbus Circle and say hi! We are going to be offering exclusive products during this market and we'd love to meet you and get feedback on what you like most about emiLime's new accessories line.
